Black Hills Works Celebrates Direct Support Professionals: September 7–13, 2025
What is DSP week?
September 7–13, 2025 marks National Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week. An annual week set aside each year to celebrate the compassionate, skilled, and resilient professionals who make community inclusion possible for people with disabilities through their work at Black Hills Works.
At Black Hills Works, we know that DSPs are the backbone of our mission. Every day, they go above and beyond to ensure that the people we support live full, meaningful, and connected lives. Their work often makes the difference between isolation and inclusion, challenge and opportunity, or simply getting by and truly thriving.
While DSPs deserve our gratitude year-round, this week gives us the chance to shine an extra-bright spotlight on their dedication. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for our entire community, families, friends, staff, and partners to come together in recognition of the profound impact DSPs make in Rapid City and beyond.
Why DSPs Matter!
DSPs provide so much more than daily support. They create connections, open doors to new opportunities, and encourage independence. Their efforts fuel the spirit of inclusion and dignity at the core of Black Hills Works. Quite simply, without DSPs, our mission would not be possible.
Join Us in Saying Thank You!
This week and all year, we invite you to help us celebrate the incredible DSPs at Black Hills Works and across the nation.
